Details

There is a heady intensity to the nose with an abundance of earth characters. The red fruits sit behind rich gamey aromas of freshly turned soil, crushed ant, forest floor and truffle. It’s an intoxicating mix and quite distinct from the wine from the neighbouring Fruit Bat vineyard. The rustic appeal of the nose carries through to the palate with flavours of wild berries, moss, fresh tobacco, shitake mushroom and touches of smoked meat and game. It’s complex and layered with immense charm and character. The textural tannins provide structure and focus to the medium to full bodied palate that finishes long and savoury. This wine will benefit from decanting prior to serving.
